Western Jurisdiction Conference Adjourns

The Western Jurisdiction Conference adjourned today, Saturday, July 17, nearly an hour early. Those elected to various Jurisdiction offices and committees, and those elected to various general church boards and agencies gathered in their respective groups for organization meetings or orientation.

Reports included episcopal assignment recommendations by the Jurisdiction Episcopacy Committee:

  • Los Angeles: Mary Ann Swenson
  • San Francisco: Beverly Shamana
  • Phoenix: Minerva Carcano
  • Portland: Bob Hoshibata
  • Seattle: Ed Paup
  • Denver: Warner Brown

After the Conference adopted these recommendations, the College of Bishops of the WJ announced "conference assignments for supervision":

  • Cal-Nev: Bishop Shemana
  • Cal-Pac and Korean Mission: Bishop Swenson
  • Desert Southwest: Bishop Carcano
  • Oregon-Idaho: Bishop Hoshibata
  • Pacific Northwest and Alaska Missionary: Bishop Paup
  • Rocky Mtn and Yellowstone: Bishop Brown

The 2008 Western Jurisdiction Conference will be held in the Portland Area

After a video listing of dozens and dozens of local arrangements and volunteers, all joined hands and Bishop Galvan and Bishop Dew led a bilingual benediction.
