Family of Gary Stephens

Please pray for the family of Gary Stephens, who passed away Jan. 7. Stephens was a certified lay minister assigned to First United Methodist Church in Alamosa, Colorado. Please pray for the family of Dixie Spangler, spouse of retired pastor John Spangler, who passed away Jan. 1. Her memorial service was held Jan. 9 at University Park United Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado.

Family of Ernest Greenwood

Please pray for the family of Ernest Greenwood, who passed away Dec. 10. Ernest was the spouse of deceased clergy Doris Greenwood. Doris served the Rocky Mountain Conference from 1977 until her death in 2009.

Family of Rev. William Simmons

Please pray for the family of the Rev. William Simmons, who passed away Dec. 24. Simmons served the Rocky Mountain Conference from 1966 until he retired in 1996.

Family of Rev. Everett Matz

Family of Rev. Sione Tukutau

Please pray for the family of the Rev. Sione Tukutau on the death of his younger brother, Sifa Tukutau, on Dec. 11 in Auckland, New Zealand at the age of 46. He passed away in his sleep. Sifa is survived by his former wife, four children, and four grandchildren. Sione is traveling to New Zealand on Dec. 18 to join the family to say goodbye. Rev. Delbert Hansen after emergency surgery

Please pray for the Rev. Delbert Hansen, retired clergy, who is in Cheyenne Regional Medical Center recovering from a long, emergency surgery on Nov. 25 before Thanksgiving. He is much improved and in good spirits, but his condition is still serious. Hansen is currently serving Pleasant View United Methodist Church in Burns, Wyoming. Family of Sally Geis

Please pray for the family of Sally Geis, who passed away Nov. 16 in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 87. Geis, a well-known advocate for social justice and equality for all persons, served on a number of General Boards for The United Methodist Church. Most notably, she served on the Judicial Council, the church's highest court. Read her complete obituary. Family of the Rev. George Houser

Please pray for the family of the Rev. George Houser, who passed away Aug. 19 in Santa Rosa, California, at the age of 99. Houser served in extension ministry for the Rocky Mountain Conference and retired in 1981. According to The New York Times, he was "believed to be the last living member of the inaugural Freedom Ride — the volatile, sometimes violent bus trip through the South by a racially mixed group in 1947." Houser founded the Congress on Racial Equality (CORE) with an African-American colleague, James Farmer, and others. According to The Washington Post, Rev. Family of Rev. Terry Benedett-Farmer

Please continue to pray for the family of the Rev. Terry Benedett-Farmer. The mother of Terry's spouse Larry, Barbara Farmer, 91, passed away Sept. 24 following a massive stroke earlier this month. She was in hospice care in Wichita Falls, Texas. Burial service was Sept. 28 and a memorial service was held Oct. 13 at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Family of Verla Goff

Please pray for the family of Verla Goff, who passed away Sept. 15 in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 102. She was the wife of the Rev. Reginald Goff, who served Worland United Methodist Church in Worland, Wyoming, from 1943-62, according to daughter, Ruth Penton. Rev. Goff died in 1996. Family of Rev. Lonnie Eakle

Please pray for the family of the Rev. Lonnie Eakle, retired clergy. The mother of Lonnie's spouse Terry, Lucille Tune, 99, passed away Sept. 6. Lucille was born into a Methodist parsonage in Ravenna, Texas, and taught music in a private kindergarten until she was 84, and taught piano until she was 92. A celebration of her life was held Oct. 10 at Oakwood United Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas, which would've been her 100th birthday.
